A Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering friendly customer service. The role ensures smooth billing operations and a positive shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers politely and assist them at the billing counter

• Scan products and process sales through the POS system

• Accept payments (cash, card, UPI, wallets) and issue receipts

• Handle cash responsibly and maintain accurate cash balance

• Manage returns, exchanges, and basic customer queries

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cash counter

• Follow store policies, pricing, and discount guidelines

• Report discrepancies or system issues to the supervisor

Skills & Qualifications

• Basic math and billing skills

• Familiarity with POS machines and digital payments

• Good communication and customer-handling skills

• Honest, attentive, and well-organized

• Ability to handle busy hours

Experience & Education

• Minimum high school education

• Previous retail or cashier experience preferred (training can be provided)

Work Environment

• Retail store

• Standing for long hours and interacting with customers regularly
